Well, I've just finished the last race of the season. It was great because Scott and I were able to do it together.
It was a 2 mile run, 14 mile bike and then another 2 mile run. My total time was 1:26:26. I am o.k. with it since it was extremely windy. I started the first run off way too fast so I struggled with it, but I redeemed myself on the bike. My first transition was not stellar. Thankfully, I've done my fair share of training in the wind (25-30 mile gusts at Lake Hefner). My last transition was good and I eeked out the last 2 mile run. I thought I was better prepared for the run. It didn't help that the race didn't start until 1:30 p.m. I never run or ride that late in the day. We got to Lake Overholster to get our bikes into transition and get our packets at 11:00 so we were just hanging out for 2 1/2 hours.
OK, maybe I'm being immature, but I finally beat Scott in something!!! You have to understand how he goes about training to really understand my excitement. He will do the bare minimum - and by bare minimum I mean run once a month (maybe) and crank out this excellent time. It is so unfair!!! I beat him by about 4 minutes today. Neener neener neener!!!
